The Östersund 2022 organisation and WSA/IFS is committed to keeping all members of the sleddog family up-to-date with the latest information. This page will provide  information you need regarding the implications of COVID-19 on the sport of Sleddog and Östersund 2022

We are working on guidelines for Östersund 2022. This is done with WSA, local and national authorities.

In November, a new Covid-19 variation was identified, omicron, which has since spread to more than 80 countries. This rapid spread of Omicron is creating a rapid increase in case numbers at a rate not seen since the beginning of the pandemic. We have already seen a major increase in the number of cases reported due to the new Omicron variation and early data shows this rate will not slow down.

Due to these rising numbers and the extremely contagious nature of the Omicron variation, the WSA/IFSS Östersund 2022 has made the decision to adapt some portions of the Covid-19 protocol with the hope of minimizing the impact of Omicron on WSA/IFSS events.

However this is very extensive work for us as an organizer and also for WSA.

We are doing our best to get guidelines out as soon as possible for you.

Best Regards
